Starting and growing a finance function can be daunting. In small business there may not be someone available who can help you directly. In fact, you are the one who is expected to know! Hopefully, these blogs will contain some of the answers you need. 

I’ve worked with a lot of small businesses over twenty years, and the steps and skills I discuss in this blog are the ones I’ve determined to have been the most helpful during my time.

The role of a finance manager is complex and ever-evolving. This blog won’t tell you everything you will ever need to know. It contains my opinions, learning, and the criteria I use each time I set up a new finance department in all the small businesses that I work for.
